Police charge teen over multiple property-related offences at Boggabilla

A teenage boy has been charged as part of an ongoing investigation into property-related offences in the state's north.

In December 2020, officers attached to New England Police District commenced an investigation after multiple reports of break and enters and motor vehicle thefts occurring in Boggabilla and surrounding suburbs.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 14-year-old boy at Boggabilla, about 4pm on Friday (5 February 2021).

The teenager was taken to Boggabilla Police Station and charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal – less than $60,000, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, police pursuit, enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, larceny, receive property stolen outside NSW, and damage property by fire.

Police will allege in court that the offences relate to incidents that occurred between December 2020 and February 2021.

The teenager was granted strict conditional bail and will appear before a children's court on Wednesday 3 March 2021.
