Geelong Divisional Response Unit has charged a 17-year-old boy with almost 30 offences following an investigation into a series of aggravated burglaries and vehicle thefts in the Geelong area over the last two months.
Police will allege the offending occurred from July to August 2022, in Geelong East, Geelong West, Hamlyn Heights and Jan Juc.
Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Hamlyn Heights yesterday, where they subsequently seized a large number of stolen identification and bank cards, jewellery and a hunting knife.
The 17-year-old Hamlyn Heights boy has been charged with seven counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of attempted aggravated burglary, two counts of burglary, eight counts of theft of motor vehicle, five counts of theft from motor vehicle, two counts of attempted theft of motor vehicle and three counts of theft.
He was remanded to face a children's court today.
