Police Charge Teen With Property Offences In Orange

A teen will face court later today charged following an investigation into multiple break-ins and a pursuit in the Central West.

Operation Regional Mongoose is a high-visibility police operation to tackle serious property-related crime, committed predominately by young offenders.

Officers attached to Central West Police District commenced an investigation following multiple break-ins and a pursuit in the Orange area, between Monday 1 April 2024 and Friday 26 April 2024.

Following inquiries, officers attended a correctional facility in Grafton and arrested an 18-year-old man and he was charged with 17 offences,

  • Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner (five counts)
  • Face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence (five counts)
  • Aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal (two counts)
  • Driver never licensed (three counts)
  • Police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, and
  • P1 driver exceed speed by more than 30km/h.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before Orange Local Court via AVL today (Wednesday 10 July 2024).
