Another teen will face court today charged following an investigation after a fail to pay for taxi fare in the state's Central West.
Operation Regional Mongoose is a high-visibility police operation to tackle serious property-related crime, committed predominately by young offenders.
About 5.10am on Tuesday (16 July 2024), a group of youths were picked up by a taxi on Orchard Grove Road, Orange.
The group were dropped at Hartas Lane, Orange, where the group allegedly stole two charging cables and failed to pay the fare.
Officers attached to Central West Police District received a report and commenced an investigation into the incident.
On Tuesday a 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged and remains before the courts.
Following inquiries, about 12.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 17 July 2024), officers attended a home in Orange and arrested a 17-year-old girl.
She was taken to Orange Police Station.
The teen was charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, and breach of bail.
She was refused bail to appear at a Children's court today (Thursday 18 July 2024).
