Police Charge Teens After Croydon Assault

Croydon Divisional Response Unit officers have charged six teenagers following an alleged assault in Croydon earlier this week.

It is understood three males attended Civic Square about 4:50pm to purchase a mobile phone listed online.

Police will allege the males were assaulted by the group of teens, who then fled the scene.

Officers from the Croydon Divisional Response Unit, Eastern Region Division 2 Crime Reduction Team and the Neighbourhood Policing Unit executed seven search warrants yesterday at various properties in Maroondah and Yarra Rangers.

A 16-year-old boy from the Maroondah area was charged with violent disorder, affray, unlawful assault, assault in company and theft.

He was remanded to appear before a children's court at a later date.

Two 15-year-old boys and two 14-year-old boys from the Yarra Rangers area and a 17-year-old boy from the Maroondah area have all been charged with violent disorder, affray, unlawful assault, assault in company and theft.

All five males were bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 15-year-old boy from the Maroondah area and a 12-year-old boy from the Yarra Rangers area both received cautions.
