Three women will face court charged following a brawl in the state's Central West at the weekend.
About 9.25pm on Sunday (9 June 2024), police were called to Ross Street, Coonamble, following reports of a brawl.
Upon arrival, police observed 12 people around two women fighting on the roadway. Police broke up the fight and arrested an 18-year-old woman.
A 22-year-old woman was given a move-on direction and when she allegedly failed to comply, was arrested following a brief struggle.
Both women were taken to Coonamble Police Station where the 18-year-old woman was charged with affray and the other woman was charged with affray, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, and refuse/fail to comply with direction under Part 14.
During the arrests a 23-year-old woman allegedly assaulted a senior constable.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding that incident.
Following inquiries, about 3.05pm the same day, police attended a home on Ross Street, Tamworth and arrested a 23-year-old woman and she was taken to Coonamble Police Station.
She was charged with assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm, and two counts of hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
All three women were given conditional bail to appear at Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday 16 July 2024.
During the arrests three senior constables received minor injuries.
