Police Charge Three After Dandenong Night Club Fire

Detectives from Taskforce Echo charged three people yesterday as part of their investigation into a suspicious fire at a Dandenong night club in June.

Warrants were executed on the morning of 11 September with assistance from VIPER Taskforce at two properties in Hallam and two properties in Dandenong North.

Two 18-year-old Dandenong North men and an 18-year-old Hallam man were all arrested and were interviewed by police.

The trio has all been charged with arson, reckless conduct endanger serious injury, burglary and theft of motor vehicle.

Two men will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today while the third will appear before a children's court today as he was 17-years-old at the time of the offence.

The arrests follow a suspicious fire at a licensed premises in Dandenong earlier this year.

Emergency services were called to the Langhorne Street venue about 8.45pm on Monday, 24 June.

It's believed a number of people had entered the property and poured accelerant through the business before setting it alight.

No one was inside the business at the time of the fire and the business sustained significant damage.

The investigation remains ongoing.
