Police Charge Three After Fatal Collision In Burwood

Major Collison Investigation Unit detectives have charged three teenagers following a fatal collision in Burwood on Tuesday night.

Emergency services were called to reports two cars had collided at the intersection of Warrigal and Highbury roads about 7pm on 2 July.

The driver of the first car, a 28-year-old Ashburton man, died at the scene.

A number of males from the second vehicle, which is alleged to have been stolen, fled on foot.

Two 15-years-old girls were arrested at the scene, and have since been charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

They were bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Malvern East about 8.30pm on 3 July.

He has been charged with culpable driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death, fail to stop and render assistance, theft of motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before a children's court today.
