Southern Metro Region Crime Team detectives have charged three teenagers following the alleged theft of three cars and a subsequent pursuit across Melbourne yesterday morning.
A 14-year-old Dandenong boy has been charged with 24 offences including aggravated burglary, four counts of theft of motor vehicle, dangerous driving while pursued by police, possess firearm and reckless conduct endanger life.
Two 17-year-olds, a male and female from Cranbourne, have been charged with 16 offences including aggravated burglary, four counts of theft of motor vehicle and theft.
All were remanded to appear before a children's court at a later date.
The charges follow an incident on the Monash Freeway where the driver of a stolen BMW allegedly refused to stop for police.
Officers on the ground were assisted by the Police Air Wing who followed the car along the Westgate Freeway and Princes Freeway before it was intercepted on the Geelong Ring Road in Fyansford about 11.15am.
Three teens were arrested without incident.
Investigations revealed the BMW was allegedly stolen from a Braeside car dealership on Tuesday evening.
Police will allege the trio also stole two Audi vehicles during an aggravated burglary in Balwyn North overnight on Wednesday.
