Police Charge Three Men Over Serious Assault In Perth

Perth Detectives have charged three men as a result of their investigation into a serious assault that occurred on Murray Street in Perth on Sunday 19 January 2025.

It will be alleged about 5:45am, a 30-year-old man was assaulted by men not known to him, outside and in the lobby of an apartment block located on Murray Street. The victim sustained serious facial injuries and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

Perth Detectives attended and commenced an investigation which resulted in a 23-year-old man from Kewdale being taken into custody in West Perth just before 6am the same day. The accused was treated for a broken hand which police believe he sustained when he allegedly assaulted the 30-year-old victim.

Late Sunday afternoon, detectives apprehended and charged two 24-year-old men from Kewdale in relation to this incident.

The 23-year-old man was charged with 'With Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm or Prevent Arrest Wounded or Caused Grievous Bodily Harm' and he is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 20 January 2025.

One of the 24-year-old men was also charged with 'With Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm or Prevent Arrest Wounded or Caused Grievous Bodily Harm' and he is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 14 February 2025.

The second 24-year-old man was charged with 'Common Assault' and 'Stealing' and he is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court 10 February 2025.
