Police Charge Two After Evading Police In Preston

Two people have been charged after they evaded police in an allegedly stolen vehicle in Preston overnight.

Officers spotted the allegedly stolen Holden Astra on Andrew Steet in Melton South about 11pm on 15 October.

With the assistance of the Air Wing, officers followed the vehicle through High Street onto Melton Highway, before the it travelled along the Ring Road towards Keilor North.

The Astra pulled over a short time later on Clifton Drive in Preston where the two occupants were arrested.

A 19-year-old Mickleham man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, failing to stop on police direction and possessing proceeds of crime.

A 19-year-old Burwood woman has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and possessing proceeds of crime.

The pair have been bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrates' court on 28 January 2025.
