Police charge two after knife produced during CBD fight

A man is due to appear in court after allegedly producing a knife during a fight in the city overnight.

Police have been told two men, aged 29 and 31, became involved in a fight about 11pm (Friday 11 December 2020), with a group of men near King and Kent streets, Sydney.

Multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reported one of the men allegedly produced a knife and threatened the group before they ran away.

The two men left the scene and returned to an apartment in Kent Street, where officers from Sydney City Police Area Command arrested them.

When the younger man was searched $10,000 was allegedly found in his underwear.

Both men were taken to Day Street Police Station where the younger man has been charged with affray, wield knife in a public place, goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen, unlawfully possess thing resembles Australian Licence, and breach of bail. He's been refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 12 December 2020).

The older man has been charged with affray, and intimidate intend fear physical harm. He's been given conditional bail to appear in a court and date to be determined.
