Police Charge Two After Nar Nar Goon CFA Ram Raid

Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two people following a ram raid at a fire station in Nar Nar Goon yesterday morning.

It is alleged a 4WD rammed the gates in the yard of the CFA station on Carney Street on Friday, 20 September about 1.30am.

Police will allege the pair gained access to a fire truck and stole equipment.

The pair allegedly used the 4WD to ram the roller door of the fire station however did not gain access to the building and fled the scene in the vehicle.

No one was inside at the time of the incident.

The silver 4WD was located a short time later in Pakenham East.

Police will allege the pair were also involved in a series of commercial and residential burglaries, theft of motor vehicles and theft from a motor vehicle in Cardinia on 15 September, as well as a series of theft of motor vehicles, theft from motor vehicles and commercial burglaries in Baw Baw between 15 and 17 September.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a property in Ebony Drive, Pakenham at 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.

A 33-year-old Pakenham man and 30-year-old Pakenham woman were arrested at the scene.

They have been charged with extensive offending including Burglary and Theft of motor vehicle along with multiple other related offences.

He was charged with 34 offences in total and remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 21 September.

She was charged with 30 offences in total and bailed to appear before the Dandenong Magistrates' Court on 12 November.
