Redfern RES detectives have charged two people with large commercial drug supply after seizing nearly $53,000 cash and cocaine as part of an ongoing investigation.

In April this year, detectives from Redfern Region Enforcement Squad (RES) established Strike Force Almac to investigate the supply of cocaine across Sydney.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators, arrested a 29-year-old man and 28-year-old woman at Meeks Street, Kingsford, about 7pm yesterday (Wednesday 29 July 2020).

The pair were taken to Day Street Police Station.

A short time later, Redfern RES investigators executed two search warrants at a garage at Kingsford and a home at Campbelltown.

During the searches, police seized nearly 175g cannabis, more than 130g of cocaine, $32,905 cash and items consistent with the supply of prohibited drugs.

Police also searched a Toyota Hilux located outside the Kingsford garage and seized more than 500g of cocaine and $19,850 cash.

The vehicle was seized, and all items located during the operation will undergo forensic examination.

The man was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), two counts of supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity) and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.

The woman was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity) and deal with property proceeds of crime.

Police will allege in court that the pair were involved in the supply of 9kg of cocaine with an estimated potential street value of $1.89 million, and the supply of 34kg cannabis with an estimated potential value of $300,000.

They were both refused bail to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court today (Thursday 30 July 2020).

Investigations by Redfern RES are continuing.
