Two people have been charged following a police operation at Condell Park yesterday.
Just after 11am (Thursday 18 August 2022), officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended a home on Yanderra Street, to speak to a man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
While at the location, one man and two women – who had just arrived at the home – were arrested.
One of the women was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics as a precaution. The other woman and the man were released a short time later.
Following treatment, the 28-year-old woman was taken to Bankstown Police Station where she was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence.
The woman was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 19 August 2022) where she was remanded in custody to re-appear at the same court on Wednesday 12 October 2022.
Another man – who was in the home at the time – refused to leave the house and a perimeter was established around the premises, with additional resources from the Tactical Operations Unit, Police Negotiators, and Raptor Squad assisting with negotiations.
About 2pm, a handler and dog from the Dog Unit entered the roof cavity of the home where the 26-year-old man was arrested.
He was taken to Bankstown Hospital in a stable condition for treatment to a leg injury.
Today (Friday 19 August 2022), the man was charged with larceny, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, acquire ammunition subject to prohibition order, possess prohibited drug and two outstanding warrants.
He was formally refused bail during a bedside hearing and is due to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 12 October 2022.
