Police Charge Two Men After Stabbing At Orange

Two men have been charged – with one facing court today – following an alleged stabbing in the state's central west.

About 11.10pm Friday 14 February 2025, emergency services responded to reports of an assault at a home on Algona Crescent, Orange.

Officers attached to Central West Police District were told a man had allegedly broken into the home before a fight broke out between the man and an associate of the resident.

Upon arrival, police allegedly found a 20-year-old man with multiple stab wounds, and a 19-year-old man with hand and facial injuries.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated both men at the scene before they were both taken to Orange Hospital in serious but stable conditions.

A 22-year-old woman who was also at the home was uninjured. Police believe the men are known to each other.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced.

Following inquiries, police arrested both men at Orange Police Station yesterday (Monday 17 February 2025).

The 20-year-old man was charged with aggravated break and enter with intent to inflict actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO. He was refused bail to appear before Orange Local Court today (Tuesday 18 February 2025).

The 19-year-old man was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and was granted conditional bail to appear before Orange Local Court on Thursday 17 April 2025.
