It will be alleged; between 6:30pm on 1 February 2025 and 7:30am on 2 February 2025 the accused persons spray painted anti-Semitic symbols and words on walls, bus stops and signage in the areas of Nedlands, Dianella and Dalkeith.
A taskforce, led by the State Security Investigation Group, was immediately set up to investigate the graffiti with efforts rapidly resulting in a number of investigative leads.
Two warrants were executed at residences in Dianella and Beechboro, leading to the arrest of two 27-year-old men.
A 27-year-old Beechboro man has since been charged with four counts of 'Criminal Damage in Circumstances of Racial Aggravation' and a 27-year-old Dianella man has been charged with five counts of 'Criminal Damage in Circumstances of Racial Aggravation'.
Both will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 5 February 2025.
"The Western Australia Police Force will not allow vile acts of hatred and racism to go unchecked," a WA Police spokesperson said.
"We have zero tolerance for hate in our community and we will use every measure at the agency's disposal to protect our community and bring perpetrators to justice.
"This swift outcome should send a clear message to anyone engaging in this kind of behaviour. We will find you and you will be put before the courts to face the consequences of your actions.
"We will continue to work with Jewish community leaders to ensure they feel our support."
Since December 2024, hundreds of dedicated patrols have been conducted in and around the immediate vicinity of prominent locations frequented by members of our Jewish community.
Additional resources will continue to patrol these areas by vehicle and on foot.
The WA Police Force encourages anyone who is the victim of a hate crime or witnesses a hate crime to report the matter to police through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or through Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
It is important that the community and police continue to work together to make WA a safe place for everyone.
