Police Charge Two Over Pursuit At Lismore

Two males have been charged following an alleged pursuit at Lismore early this morning.

About 2.15am (Monday 6 January 2025), police were patrolling the Bruxner Highway near Lismore when they attempted to stop a vehicle.

Police will allege that the vehicle was bearing number plates reported stolen from a Queensland address.

When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated, continuing through Goonellabah.

The vehicle came to a stop at Tregeagle and two males – aged 15 and 22 – were arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station.

The man was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly, and use class A vehicle with unauthorised number plate affixed.

A warrant was also executed for alleged weapon and bail offences.

He was refused bail to appear before Lismore Local Court today (Monday 6 January 2025).

The boy was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children's court on Friday 28 February 2025.
