A couple have been charged and will face Court after a man was found seriously injured after being allegedly stabbed at Liverpool last weekend.
About 10.30pm on Saturday 1 February 2025, emergency services were called to a unit on Copeland Street, Liverpool, following reports of a concern for welfare.
Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and located a 40-year-old man with a stab wound to his stomach.
The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital for surgery.
Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, about 3.45pm yesterday (Thursday 6 February 2025), police arrested a man and a woman – both aged 41 – at a motel on the Hume Highway at Casula.
Police then executed a search warrant on the room and located items including knives, baseball bats, mobile phones and personal documents which will be subject to further scientific examination and investigation.
The pair were taken to Liverpool Police Station where the man was charged with robbery in company causing wounding/grievious bodily harm and robbery.
The woman was charged with robbery in company causing wounding/grievious bodily harm.
Both men were refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today (Friday 7 February 2025).
Inquiries are ongoing.
