Two men have been charged after a man was found critically injured at Port Macquarie last week.
About 1.30am on Thursday 30 January 2025, emergency services were called to Central Road, where they located a man wounded on the roadway.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 28-year-old man before taking him to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for the treatment of stab wounds.
He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District commenced an investigation under Strike Force Gatlard.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives executed search warrants at two properties in Wauchope and Port Macquarie yesterday morning (Tuesday 4 February 2025).
Two men – both aged 21 – were arrested at a home on Oxide Street, Port Macquarie, before being taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.
One of the men was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and common assault.
The other was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO.
Both men were refused bail to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court today (Wednesday 5 February 2025).
