Police charge two people after stabbing at Ryde

A woman and a man have been charged after an alleged stabbing in Ryde overnight.

Just after 9.30pm yesterday (Sunday 29 January 2023), emergency services were called to a unit on Devlin Street, Ryde, after reports a man had been injured.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 35-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest at the scene, before he was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command arrested a 37-year-old woman, who is known to the man.

She was taken to Ryde Police Station, where she was charged with reckless wounding (DV).

The woman was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Monday 30 January 2023).

The man was released from hospital before he was taken to Chatswood Police station and charged with contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic).

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Thursday 23 February 2023.
