Police charge woman after Pakenham assault

Dandenong police have charged a woman following an alleged assault in Pakenham last night.

The 18-year-old from Pakenham has been charged with intentionally and recklessly cause serious injury, affray and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

She will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.

The charges relate to an alleged assault that occurred at Ron Andrews Park on Sandalwood Drive about 7.30pm.

Two nearby residents went to intervene when they saw a group of up to eight males and females fighting in the reserve about 7.30pm.

The group turned on the victims and a 44-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 30-year-old woman was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Police are still searching for the other offenders in relation to the incident.
