Police Charge Woman After Pursuit At Orange

Woman charged following an alleged pursuit in the state's central west.

About 9:05pm yesterday (Sunday 17 November 2024), officers attached to Orange Highway Patrol attempted to stop a silver sedan on the Mitchell Highway, Shadforth.

When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

Officers successfully deployed road spikes at Lucknow, with the vehicle stopping outside a property on Nelson Place, South Terrace.

Four passengers ran from the scene; however a 17-year-old wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested a short time later.

The female driver, aged 27, was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station.

She was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly and P2 driver exceed speed.

She was refused bail to appear before Orange Local Court today (Monday 18 November 2024).

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
