Police Charge Woman After Pursuit - Marayong

A woman has been charged following a pursuit in Sydney's north west.

About 7:20pm yesterday (Friday 16 August 2024), police were called to a property on Bellminer Street, Woodcroft, following reports a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee had allegedly been stolen.

Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A short time later, police located the vehicle on Quakers Hill Parkway, Quakers Hill, and attempted to stop the vehicle.

When the SUV alleged failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated, before being terminated due to safety reasons.

The vehicle was located later on Sunnyholt Road, Kings Park, and when it allegedly failed to stop a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle hit the gutter on Benalla Crescent, Marayong, with the female driver allegedly abandoning the vehicle while it was still moving.

The vehicle stopped a short time later. No one was injured in the incident.

Police arrested a 22-year-old woman, and she was taken to Blacktown Police station and charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.

She was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 17 August 2024).
