Police Charge Woman After Stabbing At Nowra

A woman will face court today over an alleged stabbing in the state's south overnight.

About 10pm yesterday (Thursday 12 September 2024) emergency services were called to a premises on Kinghorne Street, Nowra, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District attended and were told a 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed by a 24-year-old woman known to him.

The 25-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital in a stable condition with lacerations to his left arm and leg, and cuts and to his head.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

The 24-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm-SI; reckless wounding (DV) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV).

She was refused bail to appear before Nowra Local Court today (Friday 13 September 2024).
