A driver has been charged after a woman died in a crash near Dubbo yesterday.
About 8.30am on Monday (28 December 2020), emergency services were called to Tomingley West Road, Tomingley, about 60km south-west of Dubbo, after reports of a single-car crash.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District arrived to find a silver Holden Barina hatch had left the roadway and rolled a number of times, before landing on its roof.
A passenger, believed to be a 34-year-old woman, died at the scene after being ejected from the vehicle.
The driver, a 33-year-old woman, was treated at the scene for an arm injury before being taken to Dubbo Hospital for treatment.
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Following inquiries, the driver was arrested about 10am today (Tuesday 29 December 2020), after being released from hospital.
She was taken to Dubbo Police Station where she was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, and negligent driving occasioning death.
The woman from Cargo was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 30 December 2020.
