Police charge woman with attempted murder, South Australia

A woman is in custody after a violent domestic incident at Edwardstown this afternoon.

Police and paramedics responded to reports a man had been stabbed at an address in Edwardstown at 12.30pm on Thursday 21 July.

A 42-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his abdomen. He was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he is undergoing surgery. His injury is serious but not life-threatening.

Police, with the assistance of STAR Group and police negotiators, commenced speaking with a woman inside the property.

She was safely taken into custody without incident at 3pm.

The 44-year-old Edwardstown woman was arrested and is expected to be charged with attempted murder. She will likely face court tomorrow.
