A woman has been charged with alleged financial offences in the state's Central West.
Officers attached to Central West Police District commenced an investigation on Tuesday 1 October 2024 following concerns for the welfare of a 65-year-old man.
Police were told the man had last made contact with family members on Friday 9 August 2024.
Following inquiries, police established the man's ATM card was allegedly used by a woman at an ATM at North Orange on Tuesday 24 September 2024 and Tuesday (8 October 2024).
About 2pm Wednesday (9 October 2024), police attended a home on Bluebell Way, North Orange, and spoke with a woman who told police the man died in hospital on 17 August 2024.
Police established a crime scene, with inquiries into the man's death ongoing.
The 46-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station and charged with three counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception.
She was granted conditional bail to appear before Orange Local Court on Thursday 31 October 2024.
