Police Confiscate $850K Vapes in Holbrook Traffic Stop

A man has been charged after police seized more than 17,000 vapes during a vehicle stop in the state's south.

About 12.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 11 February 2025), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were patrolling on the Hume Highway, Woomargama, about 15km south-west of Holbrook, when officers pulled over the driver of a van bearing Queensland number plates.

Police searched the vehicle and seized 75 boxes, containing 17, 4000 vapes – with an estimated street value of $873,000.

The driver – 35-year-old man – was arrested and taken to Holbrook Police Station where he was charged with goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Holbrook Local Court on Thursday 20 March 2025.
