Broadmeadows police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of two people on 31 January.
Police were called to an address on Ormond Road in Ascot Vale just after 4pm after a woman was located deceased inside the property.
Just before 6pm police were called to an incident in Little River where a man was located with critical injuries on the Princes Freeway.
He died at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incidents continue to be investigated, however at this stage detectives are not looking for anyone else in relation to the matters.
Police also believe the parties involved were known to each other.
