Two people have been charged after police seized seven firearms during a targeted search in Deloraine yesterday.
Members of Northern Drugs and Firearms Unit were assisted by members of Western Criminal Investigation Branch, Deloraine Uniform, and specialist police resources during the search at a private residence as part of an investigation into stolen firearms.
Police seized seven firearms, including shotguns and rifles - six of which had been reported stolen previously, and one with its serial number removed.
A 24-year-old Deloraine man was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with multiple offences including burglary, possessing stolen firearms, possess a silencer, and possessing a firearm with identification marks altered or defaced.
He was bailed to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court in September.
A 29-year-old Deloraine woman was also arrested at the scene and has been charged with possessing stolen firearms.
She was bailed to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court in September.
