Police: Hit-And-Run Crash in Burleigh Heads

Police have arrested a man following an alleged traffic crash at Burleigh Heads this morning, October 19.

Emergency services were called at approximately 1.10am to reports a pedestrian had been struck by a silver utility along Goodwin Terrace.

The pedestrian, a 28-year-old Deception Bay man, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

It will be alleged the vehicle, a silver Nissan Navara dual cab utility, did not stop and continued driving.

Following investigations, a 19-year-old man was taken into police custody in Coomera just after 5am.

He is continuing to assist police with their enquiries.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant vision are urged to come forward.
