Police Hold Concerns For Welfare Of Top End 13 August

Northern Territory Police hold concerns for the welfare of mariner Kristian Larsen who has not been seen for many months.

The 68-year-old experienced mariner left Darwin on his sailing yacht, the Kehaar, in August 2023. He was planning to sail solo to Mexico with his cat.

He had been making intermittent contact via email to friends in Darwin. The last known contact was in November 2023, where he stated that he was in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea and leaving with the boat in good condition and with 5 months of supplies.

Kristian has not been seen since and it is unknown if he reached his destination or returned back to Darwin. A missing person's report was filed with police last week and investigations have commenced.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference number NTP2400076600.
