Police Hunt Clues in Alice Springs Assault Case

The Northern Territory Police Force are calling for information in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred early this morning in Alice Springs.

At 2.55am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports of two groups of males fighting in the carpark of an entertainment complex on Barrett Drive.

Up to ten males were involved in the alleged fighting, which resulted in two males aged 20 and 25 being knocked unconscious. The 25-year-old was allegedly kicked to the head by two offenders when knocked to the ground.

Emergency services responded and provided first aid, and the 25-year-old was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 20-year-old regained consciousness whilst receiving medical treatment and became aggressive. He was taken into custody by police and was also conveyed to hospital for further assessment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The offenders involved remain outstanding and investigations are ongoing.
