Police Hunt Clues: Trio Pepper Sprayed in Sydney

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman pepper sprayed three people in Sydney's CBD today.

About 11.30am today (Saturday 18 January 2025), officers from Sydney City Police Area Command responded to reports of stealing at a store inside a shopping centre on George Street, Sydney.

On arrival, police were told a staff member and a security guard attempted to stop the woman before she used pepper spray on them.

A member of the public was also sprayed before the woman left the location prior to police arrival.

Two women, aged 20, and a 31-year-old man were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

As investigations continue, detectives have released images of a woman, who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The woman is depicted as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 150cm tall, of thin build, with dark coloured hair and blonde ends.

She was wearing a black Nike hat, black Calvin Klein jumper, black jeans, black boots and carrying a large white Nike tote bag and a cross-body bag.
