Police Hunt Suspects in Coconut Grove Robbery

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a stealing with violence incident that occurred overnight in Coconut Grove.

Around 9.10pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report of a male youth allegedly threatening a female with an edged weapon on Progress Drive.

The victim fled from the offender who chased after her, causing her to drop her handbag containing personal items. The offender allegedly stole the bag and fled the scene.

The 43-year-old female victim did not suffer any injuries as a result of the incident.

Police attended and while taking a statement from the victim, she identified a red Suzuki Swift driving past as allegedly belonging to her. Police followed the vehicle and found it abandoned in Litchfield Court in Nightcliff. The offender remains outstanding.

A crime scene was established, and police investigations are ongoing.

Police are also investigating a number of burglaries that occurred overnight around Easther and Craig Crescent, Coconut Grove, in which small items were reported stolen.

It is unknown at this stage if the incidents are linked.
