Police Hunt Tips: Child Injured in Albury Hit-and-Run

Police are re-appealing for information from the public after a child was injured in a suspected hit-and-run near Albury last month.

Emergency services were called to Dick Road, Lavington, about 7am (Friday 10 January 2025), after a child was hit by a vehicle, which left the scene prior to the arrival of police.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a four-year-old boy for a suspected head injury, before he was taken to Albury Hospital for further treatment.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District responded, established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

Strike Force Bygrave, comprising officers from the Riverina Crash Investigation Unit, has been formed to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

As part of the investigation, police have seized a Holden Commodore utility, which has undergone forensic examination.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police would like to speak to the driver of the white Holden utility which was seen in the area around the time of the incident, as investigators believe they may be able to assist with investigations.

Police are specifically appealing to anyone with dashcam footage who might have been travelling between Racecourse Road and The Hume Highway at Lavington, as well as Guinea and McCauley streets, Albury, between 7am and 7.15am, or who saw a white Holden utility in the area, to contact local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
