Police Hunt Tips in Alice Springs Robbery Try

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to an attempted robbery that occurred overnight in Alice Springs.

Around 10.30pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre (JESCC) received a report from a 74-year-old woman that a group of youths had entered her backyard and threatened her 82-year-old husband with an edged weapon.

A short time earlier, five male youths had allegedly entered the property on Red Sands Court, Desert Springs and were confronted by the victim who asked them to leave. The offenders reportedly threw numerous items located in the backyard at the victim, which struck him, resulting in minor injuries.

The offenders allegedly produced an edged weapon and threatened the victim, who retreated inside the residence. The offenders subsequently fled the scene.
