Police Hunt Tips on Moree Assault, Break-In

Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted during a break and enter in the state's north west.

About 1am today (Thursday 13 March 2025), emergency services were called to a caravan park on Amaroo Drive, Moree, following reports of an alleged break and enter.

Officers attached to New England Police District were told two unknown people broke into a cabin before they attempted to steal an SUV.

Police were also told the pair assaulted a 50-year-old woman by punching her in the head, before they left the scene on foot with a car key.

The woman was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has commenced.
