Police Hunt Witnesses: Pedestrian Hit in St Albans

Brimbank Highway Patrol are appealing for witnesses, CCTV and dash cam after a pedestrian was hit by a car and left unconscious on the road in St Albans this morning.

The collision occurred on Main Road East between Branston Road and Wahgunyah Drive about 4.11am.

It is believed the driver of a white sedan hit the man with his vehicle and continued to drive east without stopping.

The pedestrian, a 41-year-old Hillside man, was located by another driver with serious injuries and emergency services were called.

The Hillside man was transported to hospital where he is in a critical but stable condition.

Police have released dash cam footage in the hope that the vehicle and its driver can be identified.

It is believed the vehicle may have damage to the front right bumper, bonnet, and windscreen.

Officers are also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or motorists in the area at the time with dash cam in their vehicles to come forward.

The investigation remains ongoing.
