Police were called out to reports of human remains which had been located in Mount Egerton yesterday (29 April).
The remains were located in bushland just off Yendon-Egerton Road about 9.30am.
Police believe they are the remains of Albert Smith who went missing in October last year.
The circumstances are not believed to be suspicious.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
