Police Investigate After Woman Assaulted In Richmond

Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a woman's jaw was broken during an assault in Richmond last month.

The 19-year-old woman was walking along Swan Street when she became involved in an argument with an unknown passing man about 11.45pm on Saturday 21 September.

The male offender has punched the woman in the face before walking off.

The English tourist was taken to hospital where she was required to undergo surgery to her fractured jaw.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, medium build, aged between 20-30 years, about 176cm tall with dark brown short hair and a short beard and moustache.

He was wearing a cream jacket, white t-shirt and black jeans.
