Police investigate armed robberies at North Brisbane

Police are investigating after three businesses were robbed at North Brisbane last night.

At 6.10pm, a man entered a shop on Albar Street at Wavell Heights, armed with a baseball bat and demanded cash and cigarettes. A protective screen surrounding the counter was damaged in the process, but the man left empty handed in a Toyota Camry.

At 6.30pm, a man entered a service station on Webster Road at Chermside West, armed with a baseball bat before he demanded and stole cash and cigarettes.

Officers believe the same man then attended a supermarket on Handford Road at Zillmere at 6.45pm and again threatened staff with a baseball bat before leaving with cash.

At 8.30pm, the Toyota Camry was located at the intersection of Croker and Devitt Streets at Aspley while patrols continue to locate the man.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area which could assist with the investigation is asked to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
