Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Broadbeach 15 February

Police have arrested a 43-year-old Paradise Point man following investigations into an armed robbery of a 52-year-old man at Broadbeach, yesterday evening, February 14.

Police will allege that just after 9:00pm the man approached the victim in the vicinity of Main Place and produced a weapon, demanded the victim's property, and allegedly assaulted the victim at the same time of making these demands.

As a result, the man has obtained the victims property and was last seen on foot walking towards Queensland Avenue.

Police have been notified shortly after the incident and have conducted patrols in the area, resulting in the offender being identified and arrested. Further searching of the area has also located the stolen property.

The man was transported to the Southport Watch House where his bail was refused. He was charged with one count of Robbery whilst armed and one count of contravening a police banning notice and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court, today February 15.

The victim, who suffered serious facial injuries because of the incident, was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the matter or has relevant CCTV or dashcam of the incident to contact investigators.
