Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Lansvale

Police are investigating an armed robbery in Sydney's south west.

About 8.50pm yesterday (Thursday 1 August 2024), police responded to reports of an armed robbery at a service station on the Hume Highway, Lansvale.

Police have been informed that a man - wearing a black face covering, long black hooded jumper, a black 'Nike' puffer vest, black gloves, black pants and red shoes – entered the store and threatened a 28-year-old male staff member with a small black handgun.

The man left the store with a sum of cash and was last seen running north along the Hume Highway.

During the incident a male customer was in the store.

There were no reports of any persons being injured.

The customer left the store prior to the arrival of police.

Officers from Fairfield Police Area Command established a crime scene and with the assistance of the Dog Squad conducted an extensive canvas of the area, however, the man was unable to be located.

As investigations commence police are appealing for the male customer to contact police.
