Police Investigate Armed Robbery At St George

Police have charged a man following an armed robbery in St George overnight.

Around midnight on August 14, the man allegedly entered licenced premises on Victoria Street armed with a knife.

He allegedly threatened an employee and stole a quantity of alcohol before fleeing the scene.

An 18-year-old St George man was arrested this morning and charged with one count each of armed robbery, enter premises with intent to commit, attempted enter premises and commit, and two counts of wilful damage.

He is due before St George Magistrates Court today, August 14.
