Police Investigate Assault In Mooroolbark

Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an assault and attempted aggravated burglary in Mooroolbark on 7 December.

Investigators have been told a 41-year-old man was assaulted by an unknown male after a verbal altercation on Landscape Drive just after 10pm.

The offender followed the victim, his young son and elderly mother back to their home address on Chevalier Crescent but then left.

He returned a short time later with several other males and threatened to assault the victim.

The main offender attempted to smash his way into the premises where the victim and his family were taking refuge.

The offender was confronted by the victim, and the offender fled the scene.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The male is perceived as having a Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid-late teens, thin build, approximately 183cms tall, has a tattoo on his right wrist/arm and was riding a red electric bicycle.

Investigators have released images and CCTV in the hope someone recognises the male.
