Detectives from the Rapid Apprehension Squad have charged a 28-year-old man following an attempted armed robbery incident that occurred in Success today, Tuesday 30 April 2024.
It will be alleged, about 10am, the accused entered a petrol station on Beeliar Drive and threatened a staff member with a replica firearm and demanded cash.
When the staff member refused, the accused fled the scene.
It will be alleged the accused pointed the replica firearm at the man and demanded he exit the vehicle.
The male refused and drove from the scene.
A short time later, police arrived and arrested the 28-year-old man nearby.
Following a search of the man, police located and seized a small amount of methylamphetamine.
The 28-year-old from Clarkson has been charged with:
• 2 x Attempted Armed Robbery
• 1 x Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine)
He is due to appear before the Fremantle Magistrates Court tomorrow, Wednesday 1 May 2024.
