Police Investigate Cigarette Burglary In Ringwood North

Maroondah Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a ram raid at a cigarette store in Ringwood North last week.

It is believed unknown offenders in two separate vehicles attended a shopping complex on Warrandyte Road about 1.45am on Tuesday 25 March.

The offenders drove one of the vehicles, a grey Kia Seltos SUV into the security shutter of the cigarette store and once inside, stole cigarettes worth more than $1000.

Both vehicles fled the scene.

It is believed the Kia was involved in a minor crash into a sign outbound on Eastlink near High Street Road where it was dumped and offenders fled in the second vehicle.

Detectives are keen to speak to any witnesses and are yet to identify the second vehicle, believed to be a small silver or white hatch.

Anyone with information or CCTV/dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
