Police Investigate Coolaroo Shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives are investigating after a man was shot in Coolaroo yesterday afternoon.

It is understood three people were standing near a green Holden Commodore outside a property on Pearson Crescent about 4.10pm.

Police were told a dark-coloured BMW turned from Kyabram Street into Pearson Crescent, where two offenders got out of the vehicle.

They approached the victim, a 22-year-old Mickleham man, and fired several shots as he ran down a driveway towards a house and over a fence.

Those involved had left the scene before police arrived, and the BMW fled west on Pearson Crescent.

A short time later, the victim self-presented to a hospital in Epping with suspected non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Detectives are working to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam/CCTV footage or any other information that could assist police with their enquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
